Lace: I followed Susan Rostow's demo (many helpful videos on youtube: akuaprintshop4511 ) I covered a plexiglass plate with black Akua intaglio ink, placed cloth doilies and other lace on top, and printed them on damp/wet paper with tight pressure, which embossed the paper. I hand-rolled more black on top to highlight it. I removed the lace pieces and printed a second print using the pattern that was left on the plate. I cut these out and glued them to the larger print.

Drypoints: I’m starting to love Arnhem 1618 paper for printing my tetrapak drypoints: nice sharp prints with Akua inks. I created several small tetrapak drypoint plates: two candles, sundial, small fan, compass, horologium, and a swallow. I added a light wash of acrylic paint on most of the papers before I printed them. Then I cut them out and collaged them onto the large monotype.
Hourglass: I didn’t like the ochre color on the hourglass, so I covered it with a collage using Numi paste on a paper that already had a pattern on it. I cut and pasted A LOT of small pieces to make the final design go the way I wanted it to.
