Fans/ Infinity

Fans represent open-ness and unfolding possibilities. My Uncle Ken lived in Japan for many years when I was a child. Among the gifts he brought us was a fan. I've still got it in my studio, and have made numerous works featuring fans. When I learned that hummingbirds' wings move in a "figure 8" infinity pattern, I began to incorporate the infinity symbol into my work. I was intrigued with the link to the past, present and future.
