Meet my new Takach press!
The story...
After decades of printing by hand, I now have a fabulous printing press, which can print both etched and relief prints! It’s so exciting! I can do anything: combine monotypes with drypoint, linocut with chine collé, emboss or easily make an edition! It arrived on August 19 when it was raining ashes from the CZU fires up the coast, and my initials are ASH, so I have christened my press Asha (“life” in Swahili and “hope” in Sanskrit.)
Weighing in at a hefty 325 pounds, 24” x 36,” she can adjust for both etched and relief prints!
